Add image (or a graphic) to results printout.

Unfortunately we have an issue of people not paying attention to the details on the result page. They don’t look at the results thoroughly and often miss items out of tolerance. I know, it turns red..... I know it shows the deviation.....
Is there a way to add a image or small graphic to the results printout.? Something like a giant red “X” if it is out of spec. (Sad I know..... but necessary)
We are running calypso 2020 and we don’t have anything special such as pie web beyond the free version that comes with.

Hi Peter,

Open the PiWeb Designer (report editor) through your Multiple Report window. It will prompt you to save a copy of the ZEISS report.

In the editor, you'll see a few tabs on the left hand side, one of which is Toolbox. In the Toolbox, find the Quality Traffic Light object from the General section and drag that to the top corner of your report. Where you release your mouse button is where the traffic light will be "dropped off". You'll want to make sure that the Container object (the big rectangle that houses all of your header information) is the highlighted object before you release your mouse.

By default it will likely show you a standard 3-light traffic light.

With the quality traffic light object single selected, you'll want to go to the Properties tab and change the behaviour of the light to One Light from the Traffic light Type drop down.

Then, you'll want to make sure you change the behaviour of the Data Provider tab to Current Measurement, as I'm assuming you're referring to a single piece report that represents the status of ONE part and not a group of parts.

Under the Appearance subsection, you'll find a checkmark that says Status Images which you will want to checkmark. In this list, you have a series of different icon sets, one of which is a do not enter road sign, or a red flag, or a red sad face.

Resize and position this quality traffic light to somewhere visible and hopefully this extremely obvious graphic will help people realize that the part is not a "pass".

Here is my custom PiWeb header that uses a smiley to represent the worst condition. I also added how many characteristics are green, yellow, and red to my report.

This make it really easy to see if the part is good, not so good, or bad.

I am using a custom yellow smiley because the default one looks to happy that the part barely passed. 😃

There is other custom stuff in the report that makes the Additional Report data easier to see and understand too.

This worked perfectly, thank you.
I do have one other issue though. Because of the availability of the machine at the location that needs it most, I created the new sheet on a different machine. When I went to install it on the machine, it just fails. The entire system freezes and if you wait long enough it will have an error that essentially says that there is no license. What am I missing?
I went to the machine, opened the multi printout like you described and saved a copy in the new location. Then I copied the new sheet into that same folder. And when I tried to open the editor... nothing. it freezes like I described above.
The machines the sheet was created and tested on was running 7.0.08(11.03.2021) and the machine that the file failed on is running 7.0.02 (04.09.2020). That shouldn't matter.... right?
I see that there is an update that is up tp 7.0.12 and is 3gb.
If the Pie web in that machine is corrupt for some reason, that file should straighten out, right?
Thoughts?

(fyi, I did try the sheet on two other machines, which worked perfectly, before trying to install it on the needed machine.)

Ok.. FYI .
It is apparently a known bug.
We have another piece of software that requires a dongle on that machine. That dongle key is the problem. The zeiss tech support said that piweb doesn’t play well when you have other software that requires a dongle key.
I was on the phone with them for over a hour and even upgraded to the newest 2021 version.
So. Absolutely no fix for this right now will update if they ever get it fixed..
Thank you for all the input.

If I understand the question, the easiest way I have found to display a graphic from the characteristic list is in the Multiple Reports tab, check boxes “Exchange row template” and “Activate plot filter”. Click Display plots in report. Activate desired characteristics to show graphics on report.

I was looking to put something “eye catching” when the part was bad. I ended up putting a big red x and the letters NG ( for no good). And this was exactly what everyone wanted and needed.
But, even your idea wouldn’t work because it still uses piweb and with the software conflict I stated earlier it would not work. Crazy..... I know.
