[Wo...]
So I've downloaded a new Service pack (8.0.08), but the installation fails with an error that some files are missing. Now I see that the download is taken down. Bad upload on Zeiss' side maybe?
[Sv...]
I was able to download and install the service pack just now.

Popular Post [Ch...]
Holy Hotdogs, it actually fixed my simulation seat. I'm not saying I didn't have any confidence in Zeiss to get it fixed but I really didn't have any confidence they would fix it.
[Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Didn't have time to really test it out, but it looks good, even the XTR rotation works - first time in years. Had some issues though, some probes were far away from the workpiece, like they've had a bigger diameter than the CAD showed. They have a correct one though, so I'm not sure what's up. I've created a machine from scratch to avoid any import problems. Also for some reason, during simulation, the button to display probe only is greyed out. Performance-wise its great. [Jo...]
My simulation seems to be behaving now too!
[Te...]
My Simulation is better but it is still slow but at least it is passable. I have used a new config file to see if that help and double checked the NVidia settings and it still a little funny it is not smooth. I even may sure I restarted the PC. May call Zeiss this week and see if they can help 2025-11-03 11-52-42.mp4

[Ka...]
Just a hint... If you install 8.0 the current SQL server version from Microsoft will be overwritten without any hint or warning. If you run a 7.4 on the same physical machine you will get some trouble after reboot. The 7.4. will not start again cause the new SQL server version is started by 7.4. I got the messages that the probe Db will not be find or is corrupt.... You have to reinstall 7.4 using "repair mode" to fix it 😞 If 8.0 is running after this I don´t know. Never ever start 8.0 again on my productive offline station..
[Ja...]
Installed the latest service pack. Simulation is still so slow I thought it froze up at first. Unusable.
[Ch...]
Not sure if this will help you guys or not, but my old computer fried right before the service pack came out. I lost all my setup info and had to make all my machine tabs from scratch. I even had my programmers in training make new styli in SSC and used the new SSC probes. I didn't use anything from before. Is it possible that making new machine tabs and everything else from scratch might help? Just a thought. My simulation seat is humming along just fine since the new service pack. [Ja...]
The way our network is set up, I don’t think it would help to make all new stylus systems in SSC. There’s no connection between the files and the seat so there wouldn’t be a way for them to get corrupted. But I could see how setting up a new tab and re-importing them might make a difference. Definitely food for thought. I’m just hesitant to do it because it would be a real pain in the posterior importing 5 dozen stylus systems. Just might have to grin and bear it and try it anyway. Thanks for the idea.
[Sh...]
The latest service pack 8.0.08 has a glitch with the ZAS head. Zeiss Germany is now aware of the issue but if any of you use it in Planner, I suggest holding off until they release a new patch or pack because it leads into the ole SDCO error and then your machine is toast. [No...]
Today I finally got around to installing Calypso 2025 (latest SP 8.0.08) and up to now I can't complain about Simulation at all. On the contrary, it's much faster than in previous releases, even on the lowest speed setting. So fast indeed that I was concerned it wouldn't detect collisions at travel speed as reliably as before. But even that worked very well in my first tests. I also see a slight stop'n'go behavior like in Ted's video, but it's much more subtle (may have to do with the speed setting - I always simulate on lowest speed). So far I'm impressed. But then our models might be far less complex than those of others.
[No...]
Small complaint: Simulation doesn't keep its settings, like speed, show/hide CMM, show collision warnings, transparency... Fix please 🧐
