[Wo...]
Question to people who have installed 8.0 on their machines: When measuring the part, I have a delay of sometimes even 3 seconds after each feature measured. I'm suspecting it takes this long to "save" measurement points somewhere. I don't have this delay on 7.8. Anyone else experiencing this?
[Ma...]
Hello Wojciech I have the exact same problem. I found that when the clearence plane is activated makes the registration of features extremely slow. If you set the clearence plane to zero, as if it hasn't been set yet, features will be recognized fast as in 7.8
[Ch...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I'll telling you guys, Zeiss changed something in the background with clearance planes ever since service pack 7.8.12. See my post: Blank clearance planes giving error after installing service pack 7.8.12 and also in Calypso 8.0
[Ma...]
We have a second CMM in our lab with 8.0 installed - basic install - no add on's - works fine, no lag My machine has the profiler and surface package installed too - No problem in 7.8 - big lag in 8.0 Don't know if if it could be related to the add on packages. Our local Zeiss support has been informed of this lag.
[Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I don't have time this week, but next week I'll install 8.0 on the CMM that doesn't have curve or freeform and see if there's any difference. Thanks!

[Ma...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Hi Wojciech I was just contacted by my local Zeiss support. They are on the case, and wanted a screen dump on the firmware of my machine. The firmware on my machine, which lags, is V31.22. with RDS probe installed The other machine, which works, has V31.23 with VastXT probe installed. You can find your firmware version under Extras - Error report May be firmware related - I'll keep you updated.
[Je...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Patches are "full" installs now without external dependencies (like C++ Redistributables, drivers, secondary models etc). Service Packs are complete installs, same as "Base Version". Base version is no longer necessary to install once a Service Pack is available (as of release of 7.8.12 and newer) Please sign in to view this quote. I would also review your network use. Are you running programs off a network? Storing "actuals" on network (this is a big no-no) Please sign in to view this quote. Look for fixes in Service Pack releases. You will likely not see a simulation fix in a Patch (Patches are not tested to the same standard as Service Packs and are focused on high-priority bugs). Simulation bugs are not generally patch resolved as it does not affect real-time machine related measurement.

[Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I don't think network is an issue. I have the programs running from the same network on both 7.8 and 8.0 machines and and 7.8 doesn't have slowdowns. Also, the machines that have 8.0 did not have slowdowns on 7.8. I've installed 8.0 on one machine and noticed the slowdown. I was curious if its specific to this one machine so I installed 8.0 on the other machine - slowdowns appeared immediately. To test, I've copied some plans to the desktop and run from there - the machine was still "thinking" for a few seconds before starting the run - noticeably longer than on 7.8. Please sign in to view this quote. 7.8.12 was working fine for me in terms of speed, can't tell you anything about blank clearance planes, sorry. Please sign in to view this quote. Thanks for the updates! I'm not sure if its firmware related as one of the machines is pretty new from 2023 and the other is from 2017 and both show the issue. I will try to install 8.0 on a machine from 2011 to see if there is a difference. Thanks for the help!
[Ma...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Are the machines you have trouble with installed with RDS heads? My machine has RDS head installed and is slow. Our other machine has a VASTXT head and has no problem.
[Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Both machines have VAST XTR so maybe the possible rotation is the issue? I will have to install it on the machine with XT only. Thanks!
[Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. So I've installed 8.0 and based on the feedback from other operators all the XTR machines have the delay, meanwhile the XT machine works fine. I think its likely that the possibly of rotation affects the delay. Maybe the machine is "thinking" whether it has to rotate or not, since its affecting both the RDS and XTR, but XT works fine. 1
[Tr...]
Just jumping in here since it pertains to Calypso 8.0 primarily. Does anyone know of a timeline we will see Service Pack 1 come available for this year's software? Thanks in advance.
[Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Hi, I was told that the current timeline is end of July - early August and that the slowdown bug is known and should be fixed. Thanks, Wojciech
[Ma...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Hi Wojciech Just installed the latest Calypso SP 8.0.0.4 - The slow down has hot been fixed in this service pack - at least for me. Please let me know how your equipment behaves when you have installed it.
[Te...]
Simulation also has not been fixed after installing the Service Pack 😒
[Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Confirmed, simulation is still broken. Did not install on live machine yet to check the slow down.

[Ni...]
Please sign in to view this quote. What is broken about the simulation for you? One of the earlier patches they released 'fixed' simulation for me. However, to get the simulation to properly display the sensor movements I had to re-position the CAD model within the virtual CMM measuring volume (something I never did before.) I opened a support ticket asking about why the model had to be positioned this way now and was essentially told 'that is how it needs to be now.' This is unfortunate, because all CAD models default to machine zero when imported meaning you will need to re-position all models from now until the end of time for the 2025 and beyond simulation to function. [Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Its not the positioning, its the performance. Its terribly slow - to the point its unusable. 7.8 had other issues (like XTR not rotating), but the performance was OK. Since 8.0 its broken. I don't think the performance of PC has an effect - someone earlier in the thread mentioned its unusable for them with vastly more powerful computer than mine. [Lu...]
Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but have you tried creating a new config and redoing the simulation setup from scratch? I've heard that this has been helpful in some cases.
[Wo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I did create a new machine tab to test with same results. The only thing I wanted to do was install Calypso on a completely different PC, start a new machine tab and see if it helps, just been struggling to find the time for that. [Te...]
Here is what it is doing. If I turn the CMM on you would see it move to home between every point of the scan which is why it looks like the syylus system in phasing in and out 2025-08-07 15-05-07.mkv
